CONSERVATION CAMP AND COMMITMENT TO PRESERVING NATURE

Last Saturday, August 8, 2015, the National Jamboree of Conservation Camp along the well beach of Pandeglang district, Banten was officially opened by the Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK), Siti Nurbaya. With the signing of the Declaration of the National Movement of Wild Plants and Animals which contains a promise to continue to preserve, study, and utilize sustainably for the glory of the nation. The declaration was symbolized by the release of starlings in the TNUK area. The conservation camp, which involved more than 300 participants from 77 Technical Implementation Units (UPT, under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry) throughout Indonesia, took place from August 8 - 10, 2015.
The conservation camp was intended to commemorate the National Nature Conservation Day on August 10, which is close to the independence day of the Republic of Indonesia. The conservation camp, which is packaged with the concept of a national jamboree, aims to remind the importance of conservation efforts as well as educate the public about the importance of nature conservation and the preservation of biodiversity and its ecosystems.
With the theme "Sustainability of Nature Conservation for Equitable Community Welfare", the National Jamboree event was filled with awards to the community as Conservation Cadres who have contributed to saving the Javan Rhino. This is a series of appreciation from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to the parties who have pursued nature conservation activities.
WWF Indonesia also participated by bringing Panda Mobile through several conservation games and coloring competitions with the concept of saving Javan Rhinos. In addition, Yuyun Kurniawan as Project Leader of WWF Ujung Kulon Project was also a guest speaker in a talk show with the theme "Making Ujung Kulon National Park a Leading Destination Based on Javan Rhinos".
