Scientific studies are the foundation of WWF-Indonesia's conservation activities, therefore WWF prioritizes partnerships with academic institutions to ensure that scientific studies are conducted appropriately. Partnerships with academic institutions are not only made with institutions in Indonesia, but also with various universities from other countries.

Activities carried out with academic institutions include scientific expeditions for data collection, regular monitoring of biota, policy analysis, educational programs, and others. The results of the study and analysis are then used as input for the government and other related parties.
