WWF PRODUCES DOCUMENTARY "GREEN AND FAIR PRODUCTS"
Jakarta (1/10)-As an effort to streamline the Green and Fair Products public campaign, WWF-Indonesia produced four documentary films about the making of community products around the conservation areas where WWF works, namely forest honey from TN. Tesso Nilo in Sumatra, forest honey from Mount Mutis in Timor, eucalyptus oil "Walabi" from the buffer zone of TN. Wasur in Merauke, and robusta coffee "Kuyungarang" from buffer zone TN. Bukit Barisan Selatan, Lampung.
In addition to illustrating the manufacturing process of the four Green and Fair products, this creative communication media is also an effective instrument to introduce the ""green"" value (ecological aspect) and ""fair"" value (social aspect) of these environmentally friendly products to the public.
Visual aesthetics that represent the natural beauty around the conservation area where the products come from, testimonies of producer groups, and interviews with those who are instrumental in the development of Green and Fair Products are the three important elements that this documentary aims to convey.
The Green and Fair Products documentary was screened at various Green and Fair Products exhibitions held until December 2010 in several major cities in Indonesia as well as in other public campaign activities. There may not be many "Green and Fair" products, but the campaign message is powerful: there are wise choices for people and nature, that we can contribute to conservation and sustainable management of natural resources and reduce poverty by practicing environmentally friendly consumption and choosing products wisely.
