By: Dwina Sagitanova (Volunteer Panda Mobile)
Wednesday (31/01) was a special day for Al-Zahra Kindergarten. The school, located in Villa Dago Pamulang, South Tangerang, held a Go Green day with the theme "Love and Protect Me". The event was organized by the Al-Zahra Kindergarten School Committee to teach students to love animals. That's why they invited WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile.
The activity was opened with a speech from Reli, the Principal of Al-Zahra Kindergarten who thanked the WWF-Indonesia Mobile Panda for being willing to come to provide conservation messages. The Panda Mobile team then got acquainted with the students and explained about WWF-Indonesia. Not to forget, to increase the spirit, all students were invited to dance "Ram Sam Sam".
After the dance, the students flocked to the hall to listen to a fairy tale told by Kak Ian. The story was about Cilup who ate a chocolate candy and threw the trash in the forest. Cilup did not believe that the garbage he threw into the forest could cause flooding and animals would lose their homes. Then another character named Wowo came and showed her that the waste from the chocolate candy wrappers that Cilup threw away could cause floods and animals to lose their homes so they could not survive. Since then, Cilup has never thrown her trash carelessly.
The students were also invited to play engklek, watch movies, and color in turns. In the cricket game, they were invited to get to know orangutans and tigers through the facts written in the cricket game. Several movies screened by the Panda Mobile team, such as "Quartet at The Crossroad", "Tiger Hunter", and "The World is Where We Live" made the children more familiar with umbrella animals. From the movies, they learned that animals and humans are connected. In every activity, the Panda Mobile volunteers emphasized the message that students should love and protect animals. One of them starts with small things like not littering.
