MARINE AND FISHERIES ANNUAL CONSERVATION HIGHLIGHT 2022
This report highlights WWF-Indonesia's Marine and Fisheries Program for Fiscal Year 2022. We present our achievements, challenges, lessons learned and support to government and communities in marine conservation and sustainable use.
By reading this report, we hope you will take ownership of our efforts to conserve Indonesia's ecosystems and biodiversity, including the challenges we face. For our donor partners, we hope to gauge our achievements to date and see the potential for future support. We continue to welcome any input for the improvement of WWF-Indonesia Programs, especially the Marine and Fisheries Program.
The four main programs that we work on to support conservation programs by the Indonesian Government and communities include:
• Protection of Important Habitats and Biodiversity.
• Protection of Endangered and Protected Marine Species.
• Sustainable Fisheries and Seafood Market Transformation.
• Responsible Maritime Tourism and Marine Plastic Waste Reduction Initiative.
We thank all the staff, supporters and partners who work closely to ensure the development and management of marine and fisheries conservation in Indonesia. Although we have faced some challenges - especially during the COVID-19 pandemic - we are optimistic that we will be more resilient, and together we can show people living in harmony with nature.
