By: Muhammad Azhari Lubis and Natalia Trita Agnika
As a conservation messenger, the Panda Mobile truck has often introduced WWF-Indonesia to school children. But this time, Panda Mobile delivered the conservation message to the parents of the students. The special occasion happened during "Parents Day" at Noah School located in Cijantung, East Jakarta on Thursday and Friday, October 8-9, 2015.
"Parents Day" was the culmination of the semester project conducted by Sekolah Noah. During the event, the elementary school students presented their work to the parents. The theme of the semester project on the environment was expressed in various works in accordance with the subjects that have been determined. The students' works were then sold and the proceeds donated to WWF-Indonesia as a form of concern for Indonesia's charismatic animals that are on the verge of extinction.
The team from Panda Mobile was given the opportunity to go to each class to introduce WWF-Indonesia to the parents. They listened solemnly to the information about the role of Indonesia's oldest conservation organization. Pratama Aditya Haryanto and Natalia Trita Agnika from the Panda Mobile team also explained about various donation programs that can be a means to support WWF-Indonesia's conservation work. Some of these donation programs include "WWF Warrior", "Sahabat Satwa", "Nature Guardian", "My Baby Tree", and "Gurano Bintang". Teachers, parents, and students enthusiastically asked how to become a WWF-Indonesia supporter.
At the end of the event, Sekolah Noah, represented by the students, handed over the donation to WWF-Indonesia. They became WWF-Indonesia supporters through the Sahabat Satwa, Nature Guardian, and My Baby Tree programs. The students hope that the donation they gave can contribute to the survival of animals that are almost extinct. They also want the animals to still be accessible to future generations.
