PANDA MOBILE ENLIVENS ART AND ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCES AT SMA AL BAYAN SUKABUMI
For the first time, WWF-Indonesia Mobile Panda visited Al Bayan High School, Cibadak, Sukabumi, West Java. The visit was carried out on Tuesday (30/10) in response to an invitation to enliven the "Albacadabra 2018" event, which is an art event and various competitions organized by SMA Al Bayan.
On that occasion, Panda Mobile also introduced and provided education about the environment and protected animals to the participants. Not only high school students, there were also many kindergarten and elementary school students who came from the neighborhood around the school who attended the event. They were very enthusiastic to see the Panda Mobile truck decorated with pictures of various animals. They ran around while chuckling at the sight of the Panda Mobile truck and got even more excited when they saw that the Panda Mobile truck had many dolls and books.
One of the Panda Mobile volunteers invited the participants to board the truck slowly and they were invited to watch a movie about endangered Indonesian endemic animals. The participants were amazed to see the movie "Quartet at the Crossroads" which tells the story of the original habitat of the Javan Rhino and Sumatran Elephant. In addition, the movie also tells about the condition of four endangered Indonesian animals.
WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile also carries water laboratory activities, which are activities to research and recognize types of water. The participants were also invited to play the "Orangutan" game, which aims to recognize the characteristics of orangutans and the "Explore Papua" game to recognize endemic animals in Papua.
The activity organized by SMA Al Bayan is unique because it brings together various aspects, ranging from arts, scientific work, creativity, environment, and nature. At the end of the WWF-Indonesia Panda Mobile activity, one of the Panda Mobile volunteers expressed his impression to the event committee. "The event was very lively and successful. Our message is, if indeed the mission is about the environment, the participants should really be ordered to protect and preserve the environment," said Dwi, one of the Panda Mobile volunteers.
