Earth Hour, the world's largest grassroots environmental movement is back for the 18th time with the theme 'The Greatest Moment for Earth' to unite people around the world, including Indonesia, to support and celebrate the importance of planet earth.

This year Earth Hour also launched the revamped Hour Bank, an online interactive tool that offers a wide selection of fun and personalized 'one-hour' activities based on interests and lifestyles, from food and fitness to arts and entertainment.

The implementation of Hour Bank in Indonesia received high participation from various Earth Hour communities in other cities, such as the Rekasa (Resik-resik Pantai Kenjeran Surabaya) activity conducted by Earth Hour Surabaya, GreenMind Arena (an activity where all participants are asked to bring used clothes that are no longer used to be turned into sling bags) conducted in Banda Aceh, and a cooking class activity with Burgreens held at WWF-Indonesia's headquarters located at Graha Simatupang, Jakarta.

Through Hour Bank, its latest interactive online tool, Earth Hour invites everyone, everywhere to find the most fun way to give an hour for the Earth. The Hour Bank provides a list of activities and events based on participants' interests and lifestyle preferences, from food and fitness to arts and entertainment.

This year, Earth Hour Indonesia celebration is centered in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The Switch Off ceremony was held at the Zero Kilometer Point, Malioboro, which was also attended by the Head of the Environment and Forestry Service, Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, Kusno Wibowo.
