EARTH HOUR 2013: REAL ACTIONS FOR SUSTAINING THE EARTH AND NATURE

As conducted last year, Earth Hour 2013 in Indonesia brings up 'Ini Aksiku! Mana Aksimu?' theme as an invitation to mutually inspire each other in lifestyle changes that are more friendly and sustainable for our planet. Throughout this year's Earth Hour campaign, in particular WWF-Indonesia and Earth Hour Indonesia focusing their message on energy saving, the use of public transportation, city parks, and reduced waste, in particular plastic waste, paper, and tissue.
So far, at least 30 cities across the archipelago are tracked and recorded as committed to implementing a green lifestyle in order to reduce the rate of climate change impacts. The growing participation of cities in Indonesia cannot be separated from the movement of environmental, talent, and hobby communities which are collaborating in the Earth Hour Indonesia Community. They are participatory transmitting positive energy to their networks in other cities, business relations, and government. Implemented in more than 30 cities, Earth Hour Indonesia 2013 is supported by 500 communities, 14 Regents/Mayors, and 5 Governors.
In Jakarta, for the fifth time, WWF-Indonesia, Earth Hour Indonesia Community, with Jakarta Administration will hold a 'switch-off' at the peak of the celebration of Earth Hour, Saturday, March 23, 2013. The event named ""Padam 1 Jam Jakarta"" will be opened by the Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo, and held on Taman Proklamasi, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Different from previous years, the activities will be enlivened with many community activities since 10 am. Their activities, including making biopori in Taman Proklamasi, community forums by Travel Addict and the Green Map Jakarta, traditional-game session, jam session (parkour, jumper, line magic, amateur astronomy, etc.), as well as traditional dance and musical performances.
