WELCOMING CHRISTMAS WITH THE WWF PANDA AT SENAYAN PLAZA

Jakarta (20/12)-Living up The Christmas Event held in Senayan Plaza called Christmas Charity Event starting on 14 to 25 December 2009, WWF-Indonesia again took part by conducting campaign, educational activities, and fundraising.
WWF tried to grab visitors’ attention by placing a Christmas tree decorated with unique animal ornaments made from colorful used paper magazine, presenting Pando wearing Santa hat, and giving away chocolate candies covered with sticking papers written on with some green slogan/tips. These efforts have successfully attracted the mall visitors to visit WWF booth and actively participate in WWF’s activities.

One of the activities was “animal origami”. Visitors were encouraged to make animal ornaments from used paper magazine and place them in the Christmas tree. An interactive game was also a favourite activity.
Moreover, WWF also invited visitors to participate in “Animal Puppet Gift Reuse.” Through this activity, they could give donation in the form of animal puppets which then will be distributed to the kids for charity and education conducted by WWF through story telling method.
“I am pleased with WWF’s activities. They are very beneficial for my children. I also tried to dig more information regarding Indonesia conservation by asking questions to the booth keepers. I felt compelled to contribute. So I registered to become WWF supporter by giving monthly donation. I hope this can support WWF-Indonesia conservation practice,” Riki said while visiting wwf booth with her husband and children.
