Kristian Tovanste Jan is a Bachelor of Fisheries graduate majoring in Aquatic Resource Management from Pattimura University, Ambon, in 2010. A year after completing his undergraduate education, Kris started his career at the Southwest Maluku Regency Marine and Fisheries Service (DKP) in 2011-2013, as a staff in the Capture Fisheries Business sector. Then in 2014, Kris tried working in Romang Island Sub-district. But after a year, he decided to return to work at the DKP of Southwest Maluku, which until now still serves as a staff of the Planning and Evaluation sub-section.

In addition to providing inputs related to ecological and social data in Southwest Maluku Regency, the man born in Ambon 28 years ago also acts as a member of the Fisheries Social Team in the Southwest Maluku Expedition.
