Christian Novia Ngesti Handayani is a 1999 graduate of Marine Science from Diponegoro University, Semarang. This woman, who is familiarly called Nope, began her career as a Data Analyst at PT Central Pertiwi Bahari, Lampung (2000-2003); then completed her postgraduate education in Remote Sensing at Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta, in 2005. After that, Nope worked as a GIS Specialist at the Marine Aquarium Council (2006).
In 2009, Nope joined WWF-Indonesia Papua Program as a GIS Specialist and was based in Sorong. Nope was then transferred to Jakarta by WWF-Indonesia in 2011 to assume the role of Marine Spatial Planning and Monitoring Senior Officer in the Coral Triangle Program, with responsibility for marine spatial planning.
Nope served as the Rapid Mapping Social Team Leader on the Southwest Maluku Expedition.
