On Monday (18/09), WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile visited the National High Jakarta School in Kembangan, West Jakarta. With the theme "Saving Our Water and Land", Panda Mobile invited the students to save the Earth.
The activity, which was attended by around 119 elementary school students, was divided into two groups that carried out activities simultaneously. The first group conducted activities in the classroom with Amkieltiela, WWF-Indonesia's Marine Science and Knowledge Management Officer. The woman who is familiarly called Kak Tiela explained about various kinds of marine life, pollution that occurs in the sea, and human waste that poses a serious threat to marine ecosystems. With simple language and the help of videos and pictures, the children could better understand the material provided. Even some of them looked shocked and sad when shown the current condition of the sea. Not a few also felt curious.
At the same time, group two visited WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile truck parked on the school grounds. In the back cabin of the Panda Mobile truck, the students watched movies in accordance with the theme of the day's activities, including a documentary film about the life of sea turtles in the sea, a movie about the domino effect of human actions on nature, and the movie "Plastic Planet".
The students were also invited to play "Explore Papua" to get to know various endemic animals typical of Papua. Another game that they participated in was cricket about protected animals. The students felt very enthusiastic and happy with the activity. Laughter was occasionally heard in between games. Each group took turns doing the activities so that all got the same material. The Panda Mobile activity that day was closed with a group photo session.
