"I didn't expect Panda Mobile to come with a complete team like this," said miss Yos, a teacher who acted as an activity committee at Taman Alfa High Scope School, West Jakarta. The friendly woman immediately invited the Panda Mobile team to prepare all the environmental education materials that would be given to elementary school students there.
The activity on Monday (12/05) was held in commemoration of three important moments; Earth Day, Kartini Day, and National Education Day. "We think Panda Mobile's presence is very appropriate," continued miss Yos. As per the planned program, the students of Sekolah High Scope that day were divided into several groups. Students in grades 1 and 2 went upstairs to listen to storytelling from Kak Ryan. Meanwhile, students from Grade 3 to Grade 6 took turns enjoying the book and video facilities in the Panda Mobile truck, playing snakes and ladders 'Gajah Jalan Ke Sungai', making recycled creations of used newsprint, and listening to Iqbal Fitrah Hanif, Panda Mobile Coordinator, who explained about the conservation work carried out by WWF-Indonesia as well as a number of environmental information, especially about green lifestyles.
"We really appreciate the presence of Panda Mobile here," said miss Maryna, who was busy managing the students that day. She personally admitted that she was happy to gain new knowledge about green lifestyles that can be an easy action to take in saving the earth. "We just found out that sterofoam containers are harmful to health and the environment."
At the end of the session, Taman Alfa High Scope School, Jakarta, presented a certificate with a photo of the entire Panda Mobile team working that day. "The school and students are very grateful for the environmental knowledge provided. We are sure that after this they will gain new insights and start saving paper, tissue, plastic, and energy, as you advised," concluded miss Maryna.
