LET'S GET TO KNOW THE BEAUTY AND RICHNESS OF INDONESIA'S SEAS THROUGH A FISHING TOWN
Jakarta - Curious about the beauty and richness of Indonesia's seas? Love to fish but don't have time to travel? Not to worry, for android-based smart phone (smartphone) users, Touchten Games supported by WWF Indonesia presents an interactive game Fishing Town.
Enjoy the adventure as Lukas and his father to uncover and face mysterious and legendary creatures from the deep sea. While playing, explore the beautiful waters of Wakatobi, Alor, Banda, Kei Island, Cenderawasih Bay, Arafura, Komodo Islands, Bali, Java Sea and Maluku. Not only that, by playing Fishing Town we also have the opportunity to recognize and learn about more than 100 types of fish that live in these waters such as baronang fish, grouper, pomfret and barracuda.
Roki Soeharyo, Co-founder and Chief Operation Officer of Touchten Games, believes Fishing Town to be an educational entertainment medium for all ages. Roki explained that Fishing Town players have a mission for Lukas to get fish and be able to defeat Bahamut, a mysterious and legendary creature from the deep sea. "We realize the role of the fisheries sector in our lives and it needs to be managed wisely. As a game app developer, we hope Fishing Town becomes a tangible form of our contribution to conservation. This is the motivation for Touchten Games to develop Fishing Town together with WWF-Indonesia," said Roki.
By completing missions in each stage (level), players will be given missions with more difficulty in new water areas with increasingly diverse types and weights of fish.
Aditya Aryatama, WWF Indonesia's Digital Channel Coordinator, stated "The presence of Fishing Town is an additional capital for WWF Indonesia to reach the public, especially the younger generation, in spreading conservation messages in the marine and fisheries sector."
"We believe that conservation messages will be more easily captured and understood through game media. In addition to playing and getting information, through Fishing Town, the public also has the opportunity to contribute to supporting WWF Indonesia's conservation programs through in-app purchases," he added.
Fishing Town can be downloaded on Google Play for free starting today. In commemoration of National Fish Day and World Fisheries Day (World Fisheries Day), WWF-Indonesia and Touchten Games on Saturday, November 21, 2015 held a public launch of Fishing Town which was enlivened by a Fishing Town competition at Loop Station Mahakam, Jakarta.
WWF's Living Blue Planet Report released last September states that the condition of the ocean and its resources have continued to decline in recent decades and major changes are needed to ensure marine life remains abundant to meet the needs of future generations.
