Panda Mobile WWF-Indonesia is a six-wheel truck used by WWF-Indonesia to conduct conservation education activities in public areas. Not many people know that the education truck is the result of a collaboration between PT Hino Motors Sales Indonesia (HMSI) and WWF-Indonesia as an effort to support conservation.
On the occasion of "Student Day" at the 2018 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) event on Wednesday (08/08), Hino introduced the Panda Mobile truck to the vocational students who attended the Hino booth. In front of 50 students from SMAN 22 South Tangerang and SMK Triguna Utama, Hanna Astaranti, WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile staff explained, "Panda Mobile has been running for eight years and has reached Jabotabek, Bandung, and Surabaya." She added that many children do not want to go home and still want to play while learning at Panda Mobile. The goal of Panda Mobile is to spread educational information as well as conservation and nature preservation efforts to various schools, ranging from kindergartens to universities and public spaces in various fun ways.
In disseminating this information, Panda Mobile packages various activities in an interesting way. The back cabin of the truck can also be opened into a multi-functional stage for various activities such as storytelling, coloring, and reading room because Panda Mobile has a library with a collection of more than 100 books about the environment. Often visitors to Panda Mobile are treated to shows about the environment and animals through a 42-inch television screen, Various educational games about endangered animals are also available.
"We are always open to sharing knowledge and supporting nature conservation education for students in Indonesia through Panda Mobile. This is one of the ways that can be done for the future of our shared Earth," explained Hiroo Kayanoki, President Director of HMSI. The activity ended with a group photo with all students.
