FORUM OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OF THE BORNEO HIGHLANDS (FORMADAT)
The Forum of Indigenous Peoples of the Highlands of Borneo (FORMADAT) or in the local language ""Patar Tana' Dita' Borneo"" is a forum for communication and dialog among communities to work together in several areas of development and also to solve problems for the advancement of the highland area. In line with that, FORMADAT aims to increase awareness and understanding of the people in the Highlands of Borneo (DTB), preserve the cultural traditions of the community, build community capacity and promote sustainable development in the Heart of Borneo (HoB).
For this reason, FORMADAT's main program focuses on economic development for communities in the DTB through community-based ecotourism, organic farming and preserving the forests in the area for the enjoyment of locals, tourists and generations to come.
The structure of FORMADAT in terms of territory is divided into two countries, namely FORMADAT Indonesia, namely FORMADAT Main Krayan Region and South Krayan Region and FORMADAT Malaysia which has three regions namely FORMADAT Bario Region, Ba'Kelalan region (and Long Semadoh) and Long Pasia Region.
