CENTRAL SCHOOL GAVE DONATION FROM TONS OF USED GOODS

Jakarta (04/10)-Some students from Central School accompanied by an education councelor, this afternoon, Wednesday (04/10), visited WWF-Indonesia office in Mega Kuningan, Jakarta. Represented by Central School Secondary Councelor Desy Christiani, Central School gave donation to WWF-Indonesia, recieved by WWF-Indonesia Operation director Mohamad Syafril.
The donation was gained from collecting used goods during the recycling competition, a Central School's initiative conducted for one month, starting from 13 September to 13 October 2009. From total 94 students (7th grade to 10th grade), 1,748 kilogram of used goods had been succesfully collected.
Students of the School Plus located in Puri Kembangan, West Jakarta, collected used newspaper, magazines, and used cardboard; afterwards all those used goods were sold to a recycling company. Then the selling result was donated to WWF-Indonesia conservation effort.
The visit continued with ""Rhino Care"" presentation, a Javan Rhino care initiative movement where you can symbolically adopt and grant them your love through donations. All the students attentively listened the presentation. By adopting rhino, they have an opportunity to become personally involved in the fight to save Javan Rhinos.
Central School expected to continue working with WWF on environmental education. ""Children have great concern regarding environmental issues. Previously, we have invited WWF two times to visit our school and transfer environmental knowledge to our students. We got positive respond from the students. Thus, I strongly believe this effort need to be done regularly,""said Dessy.
