START FROM YOURSELF

'Start with Yourself,' Nugie invites through his song. The senior singer and musician, who is known to be very concerned about the environment, invites people to care and help the environment starting from ourselves. This invitation is the title of his latest song which was launched on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in the framework of the #BeliYangBaik campaign with WWF-Indonesia at Bintaro Xchange Mall, South Tangerang.
"I've been riding a bicycle for over six years," said Nugie. Besides being healthy, he thinks cycling is more efficient. "Save time, because it is faster and not constrained by traffic jams. Cost-effective, because I don't need to buy fuel. What is certain is that my carbon emissions are reduced a lot," he added.
Not only bicycles, Nugie also always brings his own water bottle and refuses plastic bags when shopping. He carefully calculates how much waste he produces every day. "As much as possible, I don't produce waste from the packaging of disposable products. It's not possible to avoid waste altogether, but at least it has been reduced by almost 70%," he explained.
Nugie strongly supports the #BeliYangBaik campaign, which is a campaign to invite people to change their consumption patterns and shopping behavior to become more responsible and environmentally friendly lifestyles. "Try to ride a bike, bring your own shopping bag. And be a Green Consumer, buy good that is labeled as environmentally friendly! That's part of my song lyrics. I invite everyone to be a caring consumer, starting from ourselves!" added Nugie.
The music video and song 'Start From Yourself' is a collaboration between Nugie and WWF, supported by Indonesian celebrities, including Davina Hariadi, Nadine Chandrawinata, Jamaica Cafe, Bastian Bintang, The Dance Company, Sophia Latjuba, and others. The video can be seen on the Youtube channel.
The #BeliYangBaik campaign is also supported by corporate partners, namely manufacturers of environmentally labeled products, including the Forest Stewardship Council, Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil, Mother's Choice, Tissue Tessa, Lock&Lock, Toyota, Faber Castell and Tetra Pak.
