PANDA MOBILE SPREADS SUMATRAN TIGER CONSERVATION MESSAGE IN CREATIVITY & ART EVENT AT ATHALIA HIGH SCHOOL

It is common for high schools to hold creativity and art events. This annual event, which has become the mainstay of each school, is a means to appreciate the talents of the students. Athalia High School, located in Serpong, South Tangerang, did the same thing.
On Saturday (12/11), SMA Athalia organized a creativity and art event called AKSEN 2016. This annual event aims to appreciate art works, appreciate the talents of Athalia junior and senior high school students, build love and care for nature, and build social awareness through fundraising events.
AKSEN 2016 has its own specialty because it is not only a place for creativity and art, but also brings out the value and message of conservation. In this regard, WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile also collaborated in AKSEN activities with the theme "Natural Voices in Harmony".
Represented by two volunteers, Dwina Sagita Nova and Muhammad Azhari Lubis, the WWF-Indonesia Panda Mobile introduced environmental conservation and the Sumatran tiger. In front of about 500 people consisting of students, teachers, parents, and general visitors, the Panda Mobile team delivered a presentation on Sumatran tiger conservation efforts.
AKSEN 2016 visitors who filled Aula F SMA Athalia listened carefully to the explanation from the Panda Mobbile team, especially when they learned that the Sumatran tiger population in its natural habitat is only 371 individuals. Dwina and Ari explained that the Sumatran tiger is one of the animals that is important for the ecosystem and must be protected. Various efforts to save tigers, ranging from research to obtain data about tigers, the use of camera traps, to the #DoubleTigers campaign were explained by the two volunteers.
The activity then continued with the screening of the video "Quartet at the Crossroad" which tells the story of four umbrella animals that are the focus of conservation by WWF. Through the video, visitors to AKSEN 2016 learned about the 'home' of the four animals, their population, and the threats they face.
The second video shown was "371 Tiger Replicas". The video shows the Global Tiger Day event at the end of July 2016, which was filled with an exhibition of 371 Tiger Papier Mache (paper dolls in the shape of tiger cubs) in Senayan City as a representation of the Sumatran tiger population in its natural habitat. The public figures involved in the #DoubleTigers campaign also delivered their messages through videos.
The presentation from Panda Mobile ended with the handover of donations from Athalia High School to WWF-Indonesia, mostly for the Sumatran tiger conservation program by adopting six pieces of Tiger Papier Mache.

Tiger Papier Mache is made from waste paper to raise awareness about the relationship between animals, humans and nature.
Just as the students, teachers and parents of Athalia High School support the efforts to save the Sumatran tiger, you too can add your support to the #DoubleTigers campaign by adopting a Tiger Papier Mache through wwf.id/donate or by inviting the Panda Mobile team to your school to deliver the Sumatran tiger conservation message.
