AUSTRALIA HOLDS MOVIE CONTEST FOR INDONESIANS
JAKARTA The Australian Embassy in partnership with Perth Education City, the Indonesian Nobel Foundation and the Climate Project Indonesia hold a short movie competition themed. ""Climate Change What does it mean to you and your surroundings?""
The embassy is inviting high school students from Greater Jakarta (aged 15 to 19 year) to submit a short movie (3 to 5 minutes) on any aspect of the theme. The winning team will travel to Perth for five days sponsored by Perth Education City where they will be exposed to the latest developments on climate change, and create another short film on the studies and technologies available.
Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Bill Fanner said it was important to incorporate such an important topic like climate change into Embassy initiatives. ""The competition aims to encourage high school students to be more aware of climate change - its causes and effects on day to day lives - and efforts that can be undertaken to mitigate the impacts,"" Farmer said. - JP
