STUDYING CONSERVATION WITH PANDA MOBILE AT EARLY STEP SCHOOL, KEBAGUSAN

Friday (08/02) morning, Panda Mobile WWF-Indonesia returned to action by visiting the Early Step School which is located at Kebagusan, Jagakarsa. The activity participants were students from pre-elementary or kindergarten, as well as groups of grade 1 and grade 2 students, each consisting of three classes. Seeing the relatively large number of participants, the Panda Mobile team divided them into three groups. That way, the activities can be done alternately, where some children can color in the hall, while some participants watch movies in the truck, and the rest play around the truck.
Upon entering the hall, the Panda Mobile team could see how the children were so enthusiastic about coloring the pictures. They give a beautiful touch to the animals protected by WWF-Indonesia, namely sea turtles and Sumatran elephants.
Meanwhile, the participants who watched the film in the truck were equally enthusiastic. From the moment they stepped into the big car, they were already seized with curiosity about the spectacle that was about to be seen. The films shown this time were Quartet at The Crossroads and Tiger Hunters. Both films tell stories about animals that have died and are starting to become endangered. The reasons for the extinction of tigers, elephants and orangutans are clear, namely due to excessive use of natural resources, destruction of nature and exploitation of land. Realizing this situation, WWF-Indonesia is here to help protect endangered species. The Panda Mobile team hopes that children will become more concerned about and take an active role in protecting endemic animals and their environment after watching this film.
Outside the halls and trucks, a happy atmosphere was felt. The children released their energy in an exciting game in the style of Panda Mobile: Exploring Papua. We don't want to move to Papua. However, these games invite students to get to know the animals that are characteristic of this region of East Indonesia. Participants were asked to memorize cards containing animal characteristics and habitats. They look enthusiastic to conquer challenges.
After all the activities in the three places ended, participants were invited to listen to an interesting story from the legendary storyteller Panda Mobile, Kak Ryan. The story this time is about a baby orangutan who gets lost while looking for his mother. However, the little orangutan met a tiger instead. The message the story wants to convey through this fairy tale is for humans to protect the natural surroundings, not to damage the environment, especially the forest which is the orangutan's habitat.
At the end of the event, Early Step School students made a donation to WWF-Indonesia. The children line up to put some of the money into the box provided by Panda Mobile volunteers. This activity was carried out as a form of support for WWF-Indonesia as an animal conservation organization. Thus, students can also play a role in efforts to conserve animals and their environment indirectly.
