PUBLIC WORKSHOP ON CONSERVATION FOR A SUSTAINABLE EARTH
By: Donny Prasmono (Face to Face Partnership Coordinator)
In collaboration with Qontak.com, WWF-Indonesia organized a public workshop with the theme of conservation for a sustainable earth. The workshop, which was packaged in a relaxed atmosphere, was held in the Jabodetabek area. On this occasion, the public was also given the opportunity to directly contribute to conservation efforts.
Until mid-2017, the workshop has been held twice. The inaugural event, which took place on April 22, 2017, was themed "Searching for the Mystery Trail of the Sumatran Tiger". The workshop was held to coincide with Earth Day. Primayunta, Donny Prasmono, and Saipul Siagian from WWF-Indonesia became resource persons and delivered various information related to the Sumatran Tiger and its conservation efforts.
In the second activity, the workshop was held to coincide with International Environment Day on June 5, 2017. The theme was "Do Better for Earth". Content on climate change became the message delivered to the public who attended the event. Earth Hour Indonesia Coordinator, Galih Aji Prasongko was the guest speaker, accompanied by Primayunta from WWF-Indonesia.
The enthusiasm of the public who attended the event was very good. They were actively involved in the discussion and asked many questions related to the role of the community to join the efforts of rare animal conservation and nature conservation carried out by WWF-Indonesia. Some of the attendees also directly joined as WWF-Indonesia Supporters.
