60 PARTICIPANTS ATTEND GREEN BUDGET TAGGING TECHNICAL GUIDANCE IN WEST KUTAI

Technical Guidance on Green Budget Tagging was held in the 2nd floor meeting room of the Regional Research and Development Planning Agency (BP2D) of West Kutai Regency on April 19-21, 2017. This activity was held in cooperation with WWF Indonesia and the Government of West Kutai Regency. The resource persons were Budhi Setiawan, Ph.D and Joko Tri Haryanto, Ph.D from the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF), Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia.
This activity was carried out to provide technical guidance and capacity building in mainstreaming green and low carbon development policies into the district planning and budgeting process. This budget tagging serves as budget tagging relevant to green economy activities and identifies and calculates the proportion of local government expenditures allocated and realized in the implementation of the green economy.
In his remarks, the Head of BP2D, Ir.H.Achmad Sofyan, MM said that the implementation of this budget tagging guidance provided an opportunity for all SKPDs in West Kutai to have planning and budgeting in accordance with the National RPJM and support national green development policies. "This budget tagging helps monitor and implement green economy activities in the region," he said. While the Green-Blue Economy Strategic Leader of WWF Indonesia, Pietra Widiadi stated that through cooperation with local governments in this technical guidance, it is expected to increase capacity and understanding of green budgeting to realize district planning and budgeting in line with green and low carbon development policies.
The technical guidance on budget tagging will be held for 3 days in West Kutai with facilitators from WWF Indonesia and the Faculty of Economics, Mulawarman University.
