PANDA MOBILE & HSBC SPREAD WATER AWARENESS
Water is used by humans to fulfill their needs. Over time, water supply sources experience pollution caused by various factors. Water pollution is one of the most frightening things because it has a negative impact on human survival and the ecosystem chain in it. Currently, many areas do not have access to clean water. This moves PT Bank HSBC Indonesia and WWF-Indonesia to continue the cooperation program in providing water education to the public.
One of the media used to deliver messages about water conservation to the public is through water laboratory activities owned by WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile. On Saturday (14/04), WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile visited Amanah Bunda Children-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta. This is the first RPTRA visited by Panda Mobile in a series of collaborations with HSBC to educate residents around Tanjung Duren about water.
The activity that took place in the afternoon attracted the interest of children who were busy playing at RPTRA Amanah Bunda. In addition to children, local residents were also enthusiastically gathered to participate in the event. Fairy tales became the first activity to open the event. The story told by Kak Ryan had a water theme. After that, the children and local residents were invited to watch a movie together. The movie shown was "The Adventure of Banyu with Titik Air" which attracted the attention of children and their parents. From the movie, they learned about the process of water, the function of water, and the consequences of polluted water.
Another activity that was no less exciting was the water laboratory and educational games. Through water laboratory activities, children learned that there are living things contained in water. If the water source is polluted, it can be harmful to health. The children also learned about how to distinguish between clean and dirty water. Through the water laboratory activity, they can find out the function of water for animals. It was not only the children who were educated about water, their parents were also invited to discuss the wise use of water.
The water education activities conducted by HSBC and WWF-Indonesia directly to the community aim to protect water sources. By informing and educating the public about water, it is hoped that it can reduce the occurrence of water pollution in the neighborhood.
