KEMENKO EKONOMI AND WWF END AGRARIAN REFORM PMO COOPERATION
Jakarta, 25 October 2017 - The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and WWF-Indonesia jointly decided to terminate the cooperation stated in the Memorandum of Understanding related to the establishment of Project Management Office (PMO) for the implementation of Agrarian Reform and Social Forestry program, which was signed on Thursday, October 19, 2017. This decision was made during a meeting between the two parties at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Jakarta yesterday (Tuesday, October 24, 2017).
The decision was taken after considering a number of inputs from various stakeholders related to Social Forestry and Agrarian Reform issues. Both parties also considered that the establishment of the joint secretariat requires more careful consideration and consultation with wider parties.
The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and WWF-Indonesia agreed to continue the good relationship that has existed for more than ten years, and committed to continue working together on various conservation and sustainable development topics, such as the management of the RIMBA landscape in Sumatra and the Heart of Borneo.
The Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs appreciates WWF-Indonesia for its support and cooperation so far and will review the next steps to succeed the work of Agrarian Reform and Social Forestry. WWF-Indonesia in the future remains ready to support and cooperate to succeed the agenda of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in relation to Agrarian Reform and Social Forestry.
