IKBI'S COLLABORATION WITH BANK INDONESIA IN ADVANCING SUSTAINABLE FINANCE AT THE INDONESIAN CREATIVE WORKS (KKI) 2025 EVENT
Jakarta, August 8, 2025 - WWF-Indonesia through the Indonesia Sustainable Finance Initiative (IKBI) demonstrates its commitment in encouraging green financing in the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector through active participation in Bank Indonesia's annual flagship event Karya Kreatif Indonesia (KKI) on August 7-10, 2025 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC).
One of the main highlights of IKBI's participation this year is the signing of a green financing contract with MSME debtors who develop environmentally friendly businesses. This step symbolizes the financial sector's commitment to expanding access to financing that encourages the transition to a green economy, through product innovation and sustainable business practices.
MSMEs play a key role in driving the transformation to a low-carbon economy and local economic resilience. Contributing more than 60% to the national GDP and absorbing around 97% of the workforce1, MSMEs are not only the backbone of the economy, but also the driving force of change towards a more sustainable future. Access to affordable and targeted financing opens opportunities for MSMEs to implement green solutions and accelerate decarbonization, while strengthening climate resilience and sustainable economic growth. Hence, financial product innovation and improved access to finance are crucial.
In this series of KKI activities, IKBI also presents an educational booth that aims to increase public understanding of sustainable finance and various green financing product initiatives. This booth became an interactive platform for visitors to understand the importance of sustainable financing in supporting the green economy.
The participation of a number of IKBI member banks including BJB, BSI, CIMB Niaga, Mandiri, Muamalat, OCBC, Panin, and SMBC became an important part of this synergy. The banks were also directly involved in providing education to KKI visitors, opening discussion rooms, and introducing green financing opportunities for MSME players.

KKI activities are a form of strategic synergy between Bank Indonesia and IKBI in expanding access to inclusive financing, in order to encourage the birth of a more environmentally friendly and sustainable MSME business model. This year the KKI Festival has brought in more than 150,000 visitors
