Panda Mobile, WWF-Indonesia's environmental education truck, continues to spread the message of conservation and green lifestyle to Indonesian children. This time, the Panda Mobile team invited students at Goa Kids Ceria School in Karawaci, Tangerang, to be creative with used goods into more useful objects.
The visit on Saturday (15/08) began with an explanation by the volunteers about 3R activities (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to students in grades 3-6. Meanwhile, students in grades 3-4 were taught how to utilize used cardboard into photo frames. They drew patterns on cardboard paper, cut them out and decorated them with colorful crayons. The cardboard was transformed into a beautiful photo frame.
At the same time, students in grades 5-6 were getting creative with old t-shirts and turning them into multipurpose bags. Volunteers guided them to cut the T-shirts into patterns and tie them into tote bags. The students, who were not sure they could make it, were very satisfied with their work.
Before the recycling activity, all kindergarten to elementary school students received knowledge about waste through storytelling by Kak Ryan.
