WWF KALBAR COLLABORATES WITH 2 STRATEGIC PARTNERS TO SPREAD CONSERVATION MESSAGE

Two strategic partners were joined at once by WWF Indonesia West Kalimantan Program. Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Radio Volare Office, Albertus Tjiu Program Manager of WWF West Kalimantan Program has signed two Memorandum of Understanding between WWF with Communication Studies Program of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Tanjungpura University (UNTAN), and Radio Volare, which are both located in Pontianak.
The Memorandum of Understanding with UNTAN confirms the partnership between the two organizations to jointly spread conservation messages in the West Kalimantan region in their respective capacities. Under the auspices of this partnership, WWF West Kalimantan Program will participate in enriching the lecture process at UNTAN Campus as a resource person as well as supporting course assignment materials taught by lecturers.
Albertus Tjiu hopes that what has been initiated through this collaboration can continue to be sustainable. "After the implementation, we will complete the evaluation process so that it can be a lesson learned for the continuation of better cooperation," Albert said after signing the Memorandum of Understanding.
The second Memorandum of Understanding between WWF and Radio Volare is WWF West Kalimantan Program's effort to reach young people in West Kalimantan to be more actively involved in conservation activities in Pontianak and West Kalimantan. Radio Volare, which is the largest radio in Pontianak that also has a wide network, has become WWF's media partner in disseminating conservation messages in the West Kalimantan region in various forms.
Dewi Utami, General Manager of Radio Volare who also serves as Chairperson of the Communication Science Study Program of FISIP UNTAN, said that through the radio network throughout Indonesia, which currently has a good relationship, will strengthen the network in Kalimantan in particular, in terms of broadcasting issues around the environment and conservation.
Meanwhile, M. Hermayani Putera, Kalimantan Regional Leader of WWF Indonesia expressed his hope that after this collaboration there will continue to be good relations built related to broadcasting about conservation and environmental issues in the West Kalimantan region. "We hope that there will be coverage for off-air activities carried out by WWF in West Kalimantan. So that there is a sustainability of what has been built from this collaboration, by reaching out to urban community groups, for environmental awareness," said Herma.
