On a sunny Saturday morning (12/05), students of Kolose Gonzaga Jakarta High School were seen milling around preparing for their school's annual charity bazaar. This year, the school invited WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile to participate in the implementation of a charity bazaar dedicated to underprivileged local residents.
The charity bazaar was held at the school field and filled with several booths, such as used clothes sales booth, basic food sales booth, child care booth, blood donor booth, barber booth, food booth, and stationery sales booth.
The children were then invited to play and learn on the WWF-Indonesia Mobile Panda truck. At first, the children watched the movie "Tiger Hunter" while laughing happily. Besides being funny, the movie teaches children to love animals that live in the forest, by not hunting or hurting them. After that, the movie "Plastic World" was screened, which showed the negative impact of excessive plastic use. The movie also offered solutions for a zero-waste lifestyle for the sake of our shared Earth.
In addition to watching the movie, children were invited to get to know the endemic animals of Papua through the game "Jelajah Papua". The game of throwing the ball was very popular with the children. They were also enthusiastic to hear the explanation about the animals. In addition to being fun, this game intends to convey an invitation to children to protect and preserve endemic Papuan animals that are already fairly rare.
Towards the end of the event, children were invited to get to know other rare animals through coloring activities. There were several coloring papers with pictures of rare animals. Children could choose their favorite animal. While coloring, Panda Mobile volunteers explained the facts of the animals being colored. When their parents were done with the bazaar and picked them up, the children showed their work with great enthusiasm. They left the Panda Mobile truck with happy hearts and smiles plastered on their faces.
