SOLAR PANEL FOR JAMBUK MAKMUR SCHOOL, WEST KUTAI
In March 2015, a set of solar panels was received by SDN 010 Jambuk Makmur, Bongan, West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan. The solar panels were donated by Sekolah Cikal, Jakarta through WWF Indonesia in the "Playground of Borneo" program, which is a collaborative program between Sekolah Cikal and WWF Indonesia in order to support environmental conservation and education in Borneo. The solar panel was given by Cikal School for students at Jambuk Makmur School as a lighting facility at night that can be useful for the school.
The delivery of a set of solar panels was carried out by Sri Jimmy as a representative of WWF Indonesia, East Kalimantan Program and received directly by Yusuf as the principal of SDN 010 Jambuk Makmur. The delivery of this solar panel will then be followed up in the form of sending emails from Jambuk Makmur students to Cikal School students in Jakarta, as a form of good communication between the two schools. This form of cooperation between schools is also expected to inspire other schools throughout Indonesia to participate in involving students in Indonesia's nature conservation activities.
Previously on April 12, 2014 at the Djakarta Theater, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta. Around 600 Cikal School students - ranging from playground classes to secondary level - were involved in an art performance entitled "Samboja Troops" with the theme of preserving the natural environment in the Kalimantan region. This art performance was carried out in the framework of collaborative activities held by Cikal School with WWF Indonesia in the "Playground of Borneo" program. This is the second time for Cikal School to collaborate with WWF Indonesia. Previously, in 2012, these two institutions had collaborated for a rhino conservation campaign themed "Playground of Ujung Kulon".
