By: Nur Arinta (Volunteer Panda Mobile)
On Friday (16/12), Panda Mobile was invited to the South Tangerang City Branch II level Wirakarya Camp which took place at Yon Arhanudri Field, Serpong. This activity is aimed at high school level Scouts and the equivalent. A total of 300 Scouts from all SMA / SMK throughout South Tangerang were involved in the activity.
Panda Mobile was present to share information and knowledge related to the issue of global warming to the participants. There were about 50 children sent from each troop to participate in activities with Panda Mobile.
The activity began at 14.00 with an introduction and explanation of WWF-Indonesia and umbrella animals. Participants were then invited to watch an environmental education film that emphasizes the role of humans as the most influential actors in the damage that occurs in the environment. After watching the movie, they were asked to retell the movie and the values contained in the movie.
Participants were eager to participate in the Panda Mobile activities, especially during the quiz session.
The participants' curiosity about nature conservation was very high. During the question and answer session, many interesting questions arose, for example about the guilty print device, the difference between WWF-Indonesia and other environmental NGOs in Indonesia, how to become a volunteer Panda Mobile, to the question of what is the difference between WWF-Indonesia and WWF (World Wrestling Federation). All of these questions were answered patiently by Panda Mobile's volunteers to fulfill the participants' curiosity.
Seeing the high enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the participants when participating in the activity session with Panda Mobile made volunteer Panda Mobile feel happy. The reason is, protecting the environment is one of the points of the Dasa Dharma of Scouting that must be practiced, namely "Love of nature and compassion for fellow humans". By saving the environment, we are actually saving humanity and future generations.
