This year Bumi Panda, WWF-Indonesia's environmental education house, held another iftar event with the theme "Memorable Iftar at Bumi Panda". The event which was held on Tuesday (30/06) was attended by a number of loyal WWF-Indonesia Supporters, representatives of schools in Bandung City as Bumi Panda's partners, venue partners in Bandung City, WWF-Indonesia staff, and orphanage children who were deliberately invited to share happiness and gain knowledge about the environment.
While waiting for the time to break the fast, the invited guests were invited to tour Bumi Panda and get an explanation of the various conservation work carried out by WWF-Indonesia in an effort to preserve the environment. The event continued with a discussion on environmentally friendly lifestyles that can help preserve nature. The discussion entitled "The Influence of Lifestyle on Environmental Conservation" was presented by one of WWF-Indonesia's staff, Primayunta. In the discussion, it was conveyed that efforts to protect the earth and its contents have been commanded in the Al-Quran and Hadith and have been going on since the time of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.
One of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW quoted by Prima is about the virtue of protecting and preserving nature by planting trees. "If we plant trees, it will bring many benefits. In addition to fruit and various properties from roots to leaves, trees are proven to produce oxygen needed by humans and animals, "he explained.
After the discussion, invited guests read Surah Al-Qashas together. The verse explains that Allah SWT has ordered humans not to make damage on earth. Tausyiah presented by Ustadzah Teh Sasa Esa with the theme "Mentafaquri (contemplating) the World's Favor" further provides spiritual provision for humans to maintain the balance of nature. "If there is a natural disaster that occurs, make it a reminder for us that if nature is disturbed, of course human life will also be disturbed," explained Teh Sasa.
