MAPPING OF INDONESIA'S LEADING PLANTATION COMMODITIES COVER 2023 (PALM OIL, RUBBER, COFFEE AND PULPWOOD) PUBLISHED 2025
Palm oil, coffee, cocoa, and rubber are Indonesia's leading plantation commodities, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag). These four commodities occupy strategic positions among the top ten national export commodities. This demonstrates the strength of Indonesia's plantation sector and also opens up opportunities for optimization and sustainable development planning.
This background served as the basis for WWF-Indonesia in mapping Indonesian plantation commodities in collaboration with the Faculty of Geography, Gadjah Mada University, and Mitra Geotama Indonesia. The commodity mapping aimed to present data on commodity distribution by region, management typology, and trends in oil palm cover development since 2020.
This report also includes recommendations and implementation strategies for stakeholders from the public, private, and civil society sectors.
