Last week (12/10) The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Indonesia held an internal environmental cleanup action. Themed Sunday Getaway with WWF-Indonesia "Recycle Day", the event held at the World Trade Center Sudirman Building was hosted by the Panda Mobile team and focused on educating HSBC employees about waste and the environment.
The event started at 06.30 WIB with a walk of participants who had been divided into several groups. Each group was tasked with collecting paper and plastic waste in the neighborhood around the building. The garbage was then weighed to determine which group collected the most garbage.
There were also 3 activity booths that made the event more lively. The first one was the Coloring Booth. Here participants could decorate and color frames made from used cardboard. At 3R Booth, participants were creative in making bags from used t-shirts. Storytelling. Children were entertained by Kak Ryan who told stories about waste while singing and laughing together. Panda Mobile also enlivened the event by opening the truck so that children could enjoy all the facilities inside.
"This activity is not just a competition to get more garbage than others. Rather, it is a form of education and awareness on the existence of waste around us," said Nuni Setyoko, SVP and Head of CS HSBC Indonesia. She also hoped that the day's action could sensitize all HSBC employees and the wider community to always dispose of waste in its place; not only in the office environment, but also in everyday life.
