FISH 'N BLUES ANSWERS CHALLENGES ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF ITS SEAFOOD PRODUCTS
Do you know the origin of the seafood you eat? Unclear fishing grounds, destructive fishing gear, and farming methods that pollute the surrounding environment are still faced by consumers when looking for environmentally friendly seafood.
Now Seavers need not worry, Fish 'n Blues which is a trademark of PT Samudera Eco Anugrah (SEA) Indonesia has co-signed The Pledge for Responsible Seafood on July 9, 2015. Fish 'n Blues has ensured that the fishery products they provide, such as fish, prawns, crabs and shellfish are obtained in an environmentally friendly manner and do not harm the ecosystem in nature. Their products come from fishermen and farmers assisted by NGOs under JARING-Nusantara who are committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly fisheries and aquaculture practices.
By completing the Pledge for Seafood Traceability form, Fish 'n Blues has established itself as the first eco-friendly seafood retailer and supplier in Indonesia. Their services are now available in the Jakarta and Bali areas. Seavers can check out their Instagram account at http://instagram.com/fishnblues_id.
Previously, on June 4, 2015, PT SEA Indonesia has officially become a member of Seafood Savers and will undergo a capture fisheries improvement program (FIP) and aquaculture improvement program (AIP) under the assistance of WWF-Indonesia's capture fisheries and aquaculture teams.
President Director of PT SEA Indonesia Ranggi Fajar Muharam said that the Pledge for Responsible Seafood is very good as a place to show the origin of Fish 'n Blues products because consumers have the right to know the origin of the seafood they consume. Fish 'n Blues itself strongly supports this pledge for the realization of sustainable fisheries business in Indonesia.
By consuming sustainable seafood products from Fish 'n Blues, Seavers have participated in preserving Indonesia's ocean and fishery resources and helping the economy of fishermen and small-scale farmers.
