There are various ways to spread the message of environmental conservation, one of which is through art. That is what Bumi Panda, an environmental information house managed by WWF-Indonesia, did. On Saturday (12/09), Bumi Panda together with Faber Castell organized an Art & Graphic drawing competition themed "Save the Forest, Lestari Negeriku" at the Faculty of Creative Industries Telkom University (FIK Tel-U) Bandung.
This competition invites all participants to express their creative ideas in painting and drawing media. The participants can express their work related to forests and the preservation of Indonesia's nature. The competition category is divided into two. Category I is for students and the general public, while Category II is for junior high school students.
At the beginning of the event, Elisabeth Diana Supit,Project Monitoring & Program Administration Officer WWF-Indonesia briefly introduced her conservation organization to all participants, as well as the various efforts made in preserving nature in Indonesia. "There are many ways we can do to save this Earth. One of them is by starting an environmentally friendly lifestyle and supporting the programs that are being carried out by WWF-Indonesia," Supit explained. He then expressed his hope that students can increase awareness of environmental sustainability because everyone has a role in efforts to save the Earth.
In addition to holding a drawing competition, WWF-Indonesia also set up a booth filled with various activities. These included face painting, a game of cranklek, and a screening of short films with environmental education themes. The visitors were very enthusiastic about the face painting with the theme "Wear It Wild". Their faces were painted with images of various wildlife. The "Wear It Wild" theme was in line with the theme of WWF-Indonesia's 53rd Anniversary.
