"Hello from the Heart of Borneo!

As we remind ourselves about our essential concern regarding to preserving the natural habitat of important species and the livelihoods of local people, we also like to share our efforts in conserving a sustainable environment to other people. This July edition will feature our efforts in preserving the elephant trans-boundary landscape to protecting their species status from extinction threat.

We happily share the confirmation of Betung Kerihun, Danau Sentarum and Kapuas Hulu in West Kalimantan, as new biosphere reserves, an international-level of recognition which encourage us to continue our works in preserving the Bumi Uncak Kapuas area from human-indulged damage.

In Central Kalimantan, we supported Forest Management Unit to conduct a study to assess the value of rattan, non-timber forest product, to support additional income to local community.

Read also inspiring story of Anye Apuy, the Dayak Kenyah Customary Chief of Bahau Hulu, who passed away last June. His devoted life of protecting the forest and securing the wellbeing of his people in North Kalimantan will be sorely missed to us and people of Borneo.

There are still a lot of things that we can do together to save mother earth. The Heart of Borneo is one of the last places on earth that we strive to save the environment as this place plays an important role on building resilience to climate change. It will be great things to actively taking part in protecting and conserving our environment to support the life of existing species and future generation.
