Water is essential to life and is fundamental to driving socio-economic growth. Water resources are increasingly threatened by increasing population, development and climate change. Without water there is no life.

Water issues are global and require a global solution. That's why the HSBC Water Programme works with more than 50 non-profit organizations to address the challenges of water issues around the world.

HSBC's global Water Programme aims to provide and safeguard water resources and ecosystems, inform and educate communities in need, and enable people to prosper and drive economic development around the world.

  • Trained 8,000 HSBC employees as "citizen scientists" to monitor the health of freshwater in their neighborhoods.

HSBC Voluntary Program:

HSBC volunteers are a great asset to support this program. They can help reinforce the message to the public about freshwater awareness through a series of communications and activities. The hope is that they will not only do volunteer activities, but also adjust their daily lifestyle in consuming water.
