Christian Novia is the Chairperson of XPDCSULTRA who led the implementation of the expedition. He graduated from Marine Science Diponegoro University (1999) and Gadjah Mada University (2005) with a specialization in Remote Sensing. Before joining WWF-Indonesia, Nope, his nickname, worked as a Data Analyst at PT Central Pertiwi Bahari Lampung (2000-2003) and as a GIS Specialist at Marine Aquarium Council (MAMTI Project) in 2006.
After two years as a freelancer, in 2009 Nope joined WWF-Indonesia as GIS Specialist for Marine Program based in Sorong until November 2011. December 2011 Nope was transferred to Jakarta to assist the Marine Program nationally. Currently, Nope holds the position of Marine Spatial Planning and Monitoring Senior Office under the Marine Conservation Science division.
Nope is responsible for strengthening the Coral Triangle team in the field of marine spatial planning, assisting in capacity building of CT staff in the field of spatial planning, ensuring that spatial data collected is documented, updated and stored properly, helping to provide monitoring tools to support the achievement of WWF-Indonesia's Coral Triangle program targets.
