Fakhrizal, also known as Ubun, is a Marine Conservation Officer with the Wildlife Conservation Society - Indonesia Program (WCS-IP) who specializes in the establishment and management of Marine Protected Areas. Ubun began his career in 2005 as a reef fish researcher and has led many coral reef monitoring and research projects in Indonesia.

His diverse experience in reef fish surveys along with his keen interest in underwater photography, gave him the opportunity to create a reef fish identification guidebook for Bunaken National Park.

Ubun graduated from the Marine Science study program from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and served as a member of the Ecology Team in the Southwest Maluku Expedition.
