Tiela, a Bachelor of Biology from University of Indonesia, Jakarta, started her career at WWF-Indonesia in 2011 as a Marine Liaison Officer.

In 2014, Tiela took on the responsibility as WWF-Indonesia's Marine Science and Knowledge Management Officer whose role is to manage the science related to Marine Protected Areas, including supporting the provision of literature needed by colleagues in the field and providing training for staff capacity building to support the achievement of organizational targets. She also ensures that the data collected is well documented and stored on WWF-Indonesia's website.

During the Southwest Maluku Expedition, Tiela supported the ecological rapid survey by becoming the roll master.
