Derta is the National Coordinator, Reef Check Network Indonesia. This year is Derta's seventh year working with Reef Check Indonesia. Starting as Field Staff in 2010 - 2011 and Program Development and Partnership in 2012, Derta was then responsible as Program Manager, Reef Check Indonesia since 2013 until now. Previously, Derta has worked in conservation with Taka Foundation, Semarang.
Derta graduated from Marine Science, Diponegoro University (Undip) in 2010. During her college days, she was active as a Lecturer Assistant Coordinator at the Department of Marine Science, Undip. Now, her name has been recognized through various publications she has released, some highlighting the issue of coral bleaching. Since 2005, Derta has been involved in various research activities by The Nature Conservancy, The Coral Triangle Center, as well as WWF-Indonesia.
Since 2010 until now, Derta has also served as Principal Investigator for the annual coral reef survey in a locally managed marine protected area in Tejakula, North Bali. Derta's competencies focus on reef identification, coral health and resilience monitoring methods, and coral reef data analysis. In #XPDCALORFLOTIM, she acted as a roll master in the dive team.
