WWF-INDONESIA PRODUCES "BANYU & ELEKTRA'S ADVENTURE TO LIGHT UP THE CITY"
Bandung, December 28, 2012. Closing the year 2012, Sahabat Kota and Greeneration Indonesia again launched the latest environmental education module series in the form of an animated film, entitled "The Adventure of Banyu and Elektra to Light Up the City". The movie, produced by WWF-Indonesia, BNI, The Body Shop, and HILO, is based on the theme of energy, especially related to electricity. In this movie, viewers can learn together with Banyu and his new friend, Elektra, about how energy (especially electricity) plays a role in everyday life, the impact of energy waste, and what can be done to utilize energy wisely. Along with this movie, there is also an educational module package for children, containing various fun activities to recognize and understand energy issues. The movie and module package can be used as media for Environmental Education (EE) both in schools and in various out-of-school communities.
This third series of Banyu Adventure animated films comes after ""Banyu Adventure with Titik Air"" (2009) and ""Banyu Adventure in the Land of Trash"" (2011). The energy education module and animated movie were launched for the first time at the "Kidsventure Club: Investigating Elektra's Secret Trail" which was held with children exploring Indonesia Power on Friday morning, December 28, 2012. After the exploration, a talk show was held in the afternoon with Nyoman Iswarayoga, Climate and Energy Program Director WWF-Indonesia, representatives from ESDM, and Sahabat Kota at Gedung Indonesia Menggugat to discuss the relationship between the role of energy in everyday life and how through simple behaviors can have a significant impact.
This animated film and educational module is expected to be a complementary educational media for other environmental issues. Through these works, it is hoped that children can learn happily and grow to be more concerned about the environment around them.

About Sahabat Kota
Sahabat Kota is a non-profit organization that works with local youth to optimize the development of children in the context of the urban environment. In 2007, Sahabat Kota was started by 6 young people from Bandung. At that time, the first activity of Sahabat Kota was to fill the children's long vacation into an exciting ""City Exploration Adventure"". Children are invited to explore the city, and take an active role in creating a friendly environment for them. We believe that children learn best from their living environment, which means the city itself. Living in harmony and interacting positively with the surrounding environment, both natural and social, will provide valuable learning for children's physical and character development. Therefore, creating an environment that supports optimal child development is the obligation of all city residents, including young people. kisahsahabatkota.wordpress.com
