WWF-INDONESIA & LINE LAUNCHED 'TIGGY TIGER' STICKER SERIES
Jakarta -- WWF-Indonesia and LINE once again launched a new series of stickers with a tiger character, Tiggy Tiger. The series consist of 48 different characters of Tiggy Tiger expressing various attitude of green lifestyle, such as recycling waste, two-sided printing, and saving energy.
The launch took place during an event, “100% Responsible Consumer”— a two-day informative and interactive event on becoming a wise and responsible consumer. This event was held in National Museum Jakarta since Saturday (01/03) and aimed to amongst other to encourage green lifestyle by responsibly using paper and tissue as one of this year Earth Hour theme.
According to WWF's ""Living Planet Report 2012"", the consumption of natural resources that supported the lifestyle of 7 billion people in the world today has exceeded the earth's ability to recover naturally and sustainably support human life. Currently it takes one half of the earth to sustain human life-style and consumption.
Director of Sumatra and Kalimantan Program WWF-Indonesia, Anwar Purwoto, invited consumers to pay more attention and consider the impact of every products we buy. One way is by using consumer power to select, purchase, and use responsible wood products including tissue and paper that produced from responsibly managed forest, such as those with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) label. “Certification label helps consumers to identify if the product they consume come from responsibly managed forests and do not harm endangered species” Anwar added.
Tiggy Tiger sticker series illustrate a number of simple examples of green lifestyle attitude, called ‘Earth Hour Action’. These are in accordance to this year’s Earth Hour slogan, ‘Use Your Power’ which encourage public to preserve the natural resource through green lifestyle and spread it to their communities.
“LINE is one of our partner for Earth Hour 2014 through the new Tiggy Tiger Stickers. Tiggy Tiger brings the message of changing to green lifestyle, starting from ourselves, extending to our family and friends, and to the whole community. We sure have the power to change, so use it for the good of the planet,” said Devy Suradji, WWF-Indonesia Marketing Director.
Following the previous success of its orangutan series, Tiggy Tiger will be released not only in Indonesia, but also in Singapore and Malaysia. Orangutan sticker series had more than 500.000 downloads in three months since its release and WWF-Indonesia official LINE account has more than 700.000 friends in less than 1 year since its launched on Earth Day 2013. The achievement demonstrates tremendous respond from the public on conservation efforts in Indonesia through a technology savvy channel. Base on this, LINE is projected the series to raise higheroutreach and awareness than its predecessor.
