By: Tiara Yunanda Putri (Venue Officer)
WWF-Indonesia's participation in the biggest event in Jakarta, the Pekan Raya Jakarta in July 2017 is entering its third year. As in previous years, JIExpo Kemayoran is still one of WWF-Indonesia's partners who supports environmental education activities by providing an open booth location for WWF-Indonesia.
As a form of cooperation, WWF-Indonesia also contributed to the corporate social responsibility (CSR) event held by JIExpo on Tuesday (04/07) and Wednesday (05/07) in the form of storytelling, face painting, and displaying WWF-Indonesia's icon, a Panda doll named Pando. The activity was attended by several orphanages in Jakarta who were specially invited by JIExpo.
Participants looked very enthusiastic when the fairy tale session began. Ian as the storyteller started the event by performing several children's songs, then invited those present to sway with Pando. The environmental-themed storytelling went well. Children were invited to take part in caring for and preserving the environment. Prizes were also given for those who could answer questions about the environment.
One of the activities that attracted visitors' attention was the face painting activity. Not only children who want to draw their faces with colorful paints that are safe for the skin, the staff and committee are also enthusiastically queuing in order to participate in the activity face painting.
The whole series of activities ended with a conservation message to always live an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Banon Pramesty as the Venue Officer of WWF-Indonesia Fundraiser team hopes that the third year of cooperation with PRJ JIEXPO Kemayoran will provide more benefits to visitors, especially regarding their concern for Indonesia's natural environment. Banon also appreciates PRJ for supporting environmental activities. "Not to forget (we say) thank you to PRJ who is consistent in supporting environmental activities by giving WWF-Indonesia the trust to participate in this event," he concluded.
