WWF AND ANCOL LAUNCH SECOND "PANDA MOBILE" EDUCATION TRUCK
Jakarta (07/08)-The six-wheeled educational truck "Panda Mobile" is back for the public. This time WWF-Indonesia collaborates with PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, Tbk as a partner in environmental campaigns and education through the presence of the second Panda Mobile.
To support its educational function, the Panda Mobile with Ancol contains hundreds of environmentally-themed books, a collection of environmental films, a variety of educational games for children such as puzzles and props, as well as multimedia facilities such as a 2x2 meter LCD screen as a mini theater with a capacity of up to 20 people. The presence of this educational truck, which has a length of almost 7.5 meters, is a manifestation of Ancol Taman Impian's commitment in implementing the concept of education and entertainment (edutainment) as the basis for developing various rides and entertainment programs for its visitors. In collaboration with WWF Indonesia, Ancol presents Panda Mobile as a form of appreciation for WWF Indonesia's efforts in conducting environmental conservation campaigns.
"We intend to raise public awareness of environmental issues through a series of entertaining and educational public activities through this Panda Mobile," said Budi Karya Sumadi, President Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, Tbk (PJA), the developer of Ancol Taman Impian integrated tourism and recreation area. .
The mission of spreading conservation messages to the Indonesian public through campaigns and educational activities also has differences in each level, such as for the kindergarten level, activities include coloring, storytelling, and educational games. While for junior high school, high school, and the general public, educational activities are realized in the form of presentations and discussions, simulation of the reuse-reduce-recycle (3R) concept through various activities, reading books, and watching movies.
Panda Mobile with Ancol is available to the public during the Lebaran Holiday Week from August 19-26, 2012 at Ocean Dream Samudra, Ancol. Not only that, the public can also directly enjoy this educational vehicle facility during Ancol Taman Impian's scheduled activities such as Flora Fest at Ecopark, Urban Fest, Teens Go Green Creation Event at Pasar Seni, and during the 2013 New Year's Holiday Week.
