In order to commemorate World Environment Day 2015, KNPI Central Kalimantan in collaboration with WWF Central Kalimantan held an event entitled World Environment Day. This event aims to raise awareness of the young generation of Central Kalimantan to be more concerned about the environment. The series of activities held at the Central Kalimantan KNPI building on June 6, 2015 began at 08:30 WIB which was filled with talk shows, questions and answers as well as volunteer training and launching of the youth movement to care for the environment.
The event which was attended by various environmental communities and students invited one of WWF Indonesia's honorary supporters Davina Veronica. In her second visit to Palangka Raya, Davina conducted a series of activities such as talk shows, radio interviews and local print media. In the dialog session that started at 10:30 Davina revealed that caring for the environment does not always start from heavy things. We can start from ourselves, doing small things that then have a positive impact on others. "We don't have to be super heroes for the environment, because we don't have that power. What we can do is to do small things and pass it on to others." said Davina.
The chairman of the World Environment Day commemoration committee said that there is a movement from the youth to care about the environmental conditions around them, greeting an action and not just a discourse. No matter how small the movement is, it will contribute to preserving the environment and keeping this earth sustainable.
