WWF Indonesia - Papua Program invites the community and young generation in Jayapura City to take action together for an environmentally friendly lifestyle while introducing conservation issues in the Land of Papua through the Take Action for a Better Earth activity. The activity was held to commemorate World Environmental Day 2015 (WED 2015). WED 2015 took the theme "Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care." The theme was the basis for the activity "Take Action for a Better Earth."

The event was held on June 13, 2015 in Jayapura City. The event consisted of two main activities; tree planting activities accompanied by a clean river campaign and a Fun Story with Music event. The tree planting activity and clean river campaign were carried out in the morning, together with residents from Numbay Village and Gurabesi- Jayapura City. The activity was centered along the Anafre river. There were 80 tree seedlings planted and the distribution of stickers prohibiting waste disposal into the river which were also affixed in several strategic locations. The event was opened by a representative of the Jayapura City Government, in this case Mr. Assistant 1 for Government Affairs, Mr. Wamukomo. In his speech, Mr. Wamukomo stated, "activities with the community to create a clean and beautiful environment and tree planting in several critical locations are in line with the vision and mission of Jayapura City development so it needs to be implemented."

In the afternoon, the activity continued with an awareness campaign for the younger generation at Jayapura Mall with the title "Fun Stories with Music". This activity took place from 16.00 - 21.00 WIT and was filled with music performance and talk show. The main topics discussed in the talk show were; forest conservation, protection of protected species in Papua, green lifestyle, and renewable energy. The talk show was attended by students and representatives from several high schools and universities in Jayapura. In this activity there are side venues, including Panda Shop Booth which sells various kinds of WWF merchandise products, exhibition corner which displays household products that are environmentally friendly because they use environmentally friendly energy, and wall of fame for selfie competitions while carrying environmental messages.

Titin, one of the participants of the talk show activity as well as the winner of the selfie contest stated, "This event is good, a kind of socialization for us to care more about the environment in a simple way. It's cool because the event is in the mall so it's not boring, especially with the music. Tomorrow we'll do the same thing but in schools." For WWF - Papua Program itself, this activity is also part of the brand awareness campaign to determine the level of public understanding of what WWF is and what are the conservation issues in Papua. The implementation of the "Take Action for a Better Earth" activity received support from Kodam XVII Cenderawasih, Astra Group, PDAM Jayapura City, Jayapura City Government, Qualala, and local media. For the public and young people who do not have time to come to Jayapura Mall, they can also listen to the talk show through the broadcast of Rock FM Radio - Jayapura which broadcasts the event live.
