"RUN FOR RHINO": JOIN US IN THE EFFORT TO CONSERVE THE JAVAN RHINO
"Run for Rhino" is an initiative initiated by Raffles International Christian School (RICS) and WWF-Indonesia in order to build public awareness about the importance of Javan rhino (Rhinoceros sondaicus) conservation.
One of the rarest species in the world, the Javan rhino currently has an estimated population of 35 individuals in Ujung Kulon National Park (TNUK). The Javan rhino is also among the five rarest rhino species in the world and is included in the Red List of the world conservation agency IUCN, which is in the category of highly threatened or critically endangered..
"Run for Rhino" is a fundraising program for Javan rhino conservation that is packed with interesting activities. The public can donate by running, either by finding sponsors or donating independently. The amount of donation will be calculated based on the number of laps covered. Each lap, a minimum of Rp 5,000 and a maximum of Rp 1,000,000 will be donated to support WWF-Indonesia's Javan rhino conservation program in TNUK.
The fundraising run will be held at Raffles International Christian School on Saturday, April 14 at 7am. Each lap in the school area is estimated to be 500 meters in distance.
If you are able to complete 40 laps or more, you will have the opportunity to be awarded the "endurance champion."
You will also have the chance to win the "philanthropist award" and an exciting prize of a trip to Ujung Kulon National Park.
